Winston T. Cope, M.D. is a Pinellas County native, but after high school, he left for Ohio to receive his BA degree in Chemistry at Oberlin College. He returned to Florida to receive his M.D. degree from the University of Florida in 1972.
Following medical school, he took his internship at the University of Miami School of Medicine and then completed his residency at Duke University. Dr. Cope returned to Pinellas County, Florida in 1978 to begin his career in ophthalmology. His mother and father were physicians practicing ophthalmology in St. Petersburg in the 1940s, where ophthalmology was barely present.
After 36 years in private practice, Dr. Cope joined the eye care professionals at The Eye Institute of West Florida. The physicians and staff welcome Dr. Cope and his lovely wife, Candace.
