Physicians and employees of The Eye Institute of West Florida head to Las Vegas to deliver presentations, lecture on advancements in ophthalmology and attend different courses at the annual American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting. They join at least 30,000 eye care professionals from all over the world, from surgeons to administrative staff. The six day meeting enables top minds within ophthalmology a chance to spend time together learning from one another to continue improving eye care.
Dr. Robert Weinstock, Refractive Cataract Surgeon and Dr. Neel Desai, Refractive Cataract, Cornea and LASIK Surgeon will present, lecture, teach and interview on panels throughout the meeting.
Dr. Weinstock is scheduled to be involved in 12 different events during the conference, focusing on recent advancements in refractive cataract surgery and how The Eye Institute utilizes the newest technologies to provide the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Dr. Weinstock is an internationally recognized Cataract and Refractive Surgeon and is the Director of Cataract and Refractive Surgery for The Eye Institute of West Florida and the Largo Ambulatory Surgery Center. He is the Chief Medical Editor of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Today and serves as an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of South Florida, Department of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Desai is scheduled to participate in panels and lecture on refractive cataract surgery and ocular surface diseases while at AAO’s meeting.
Dr. Desai is an internationally recognized Cataract, Refractive, LASIK and Corneal Surgeon and is one of only 150 surgeons able to perform advanced corneal transplants. He is the Co-Medical Director of the Lions Eye institute for Transplant & Research, which is the largest eye bank in the world. Additionally, he holds pending patents to new surgical products and advanced cornea surgical procedures.
